Pure Skills has been set up to provide much needed skills training, using recycled and up cycled materials where possible. With 60% of Zambians living below the poverty line and low employment rates it is vital that individuals are economically uplifted. Skilled individuals are a rarity in Livingstone with limited training facilities available for the population size. Pure Skills aims to address this through skills, entrepreneurship and literacy training.
Sporting Chance’s prime objective is to provide opportunities for sporting achievement for as many children as possible – irrespective of race, gender or social class – by offering professional coaching within all community sectors. Sporting Chance advocates and implements various programmes for coaching school-age children. Sporting Chance’s philosophy is to get children off the streets, or away from their computer games and TV’s and instill in them, a love of sport. With disciplined, structured coaching that strikes a balance between sports, academics, and “play”, Sporting Chance has developed some of South Africa’s most promising sportspeople.
Zamfund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to identify and award talented, hard-working, committed yet financially-needy female leaders in Livingstone, Zambia with a three-year scholarship to attend private secondary school. This mission is implemented on the ground through the partnership with African Impact Foundation, and St. Mary’s School, an all-girl private secondary school in Livingstone, Zambia.
